Mini-Beasts K-12


Travelbugs Mobile Mini-Beasts is a mobile workshops introducing students to a diverse range of LIVE and preserved invertebrates, highlighting their special adaptations, intricate roles in food chains, food webs and ecology. Students are given an exciting hands-on experience with a variety of live harmless creatures, preserved specimens and biofacts. Jacqui Love, the presenter, has over 20 years experience in this field, including 10 years as a keeper at Taronga Zoo. A wide range of workshop themes are available. Good support materials - pre and post visit. This program was the recipient of the Frater Award for Excellence within the NSW DET Performances for Schools Program in 2004 and 2006. Each session includes a 1 hour interactive demonstration + 20min Hands-on Discovery session per class. Formats are flexible however.
